Joyce Delaney, a.k.a. JOY is a native of St. Louis,
Missouri (USA), and founder of the community out reach program "Unity In The Community", which has supplied
the underprivileged community in St. Louis and East St. Louis, Il. with clothes, food, diapers, and school supplies for the
last 13 years through the annual "Back To School Giveaway", "The Community Christmas Giveaway",
"The Pagedale Free Store" and the "Positive Images With Positive Messages Program" which
was a motivational role model program for inner city youth. JOY continues her
good works through "Unity In The Community", by sponsoring the "GIVE GOD THE GLORY GIVEAWAY" which will supply different
communities, centers, churches and organizations with goods on a bi-monthly basis. JOY
has expanded her out reach efforts with "THE INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN BUSINESSMEN" with concerts and
ministry in the country of Jamaica, along with upcoming concert missions to Mexico and Nigeria
this summer of 2004.
JOY is also well known in the talk radio
circuit through her past 30 minute radio talk show "Love Train", which aired on WGNU-920AM. JOY has
been featured in the St. Louis Post Dispatch News Paper, The St. Louis American, The St. Louis Argus, Take Five, and the Northside
Journal, just to name a few, honoring her outstanding community service.
Joy now adds to her community out reach through her inspirational debut CD,
"GOD IS IN CONTROL", which chronicles a listing of joyful musical prayers, delivered in
a soulful, jazzy gospel style that is unique only to the sound of JOY. JOY gives all praise to GOD for her wonderful voice and blessing her with the opportunity
to now lift spirits through song. JOY's unique style of singing is a delightful
twist of jazz greats like Nancy Wilson and Dinah Washington, with a dash of Erika Badu and Jill Scott. JOY
has created a buzz on the air and in record sales in Missouri and Minneapolis with her first single, "Forgive Me Lord". JOY was voted St. Louis'
#1 gospel artist. JOY is currently in Minneapolis working on her new album, with
production by P-Family Music and on tour through out churches in Minneapolis, MN.
